[News] Dr. Alexandros Labrinidis joins the Editorial Board of VLDB Journal

In addition to already being a member of the editorial board for the Distributed and Parallel Databases journa, Professor Alexandros Labrinidis recently joined the Editorial Board of the Very Large Databases Journal as an Associate Editor. Published on behalf of the VLDB Endowment, this journal contains scholarly contributions that examine information system architectures, the impact of technological advancements on information systems, and the development of novel database applications.

Professor Panos K. Chrysanthis participated in the panel on "BigData - Challenges and Opportunities" of the 10th IEEE International Conference on Collaborative Computing: Networking, Applications and Worksharing (CollaborateCom 2014), held on October 24, 2014.

Professors Alexandros Labrinidis and Panos K. Chrysanthis are co-investigators in the newly funded Center for Causal Modeling and Discovery of Biomedical Knowledge from Big Data (CCMD), which is one of the 12 new Centers of Excellence funded through NIH's Big Data to Knowledge (BD2K) program.
