Prof. Panos K. Chrysanthis was appointed as the Special Issue Coordinator and Prof. Alexandros Labrinidis as the Systems Track Coordinator of Distributed and Parallel Databases, An International Journal (DAPD). Previously, both Prof. Chrysanthis and Prof. Labrinids served as associate editors of DAPD, 2011-2017 and 2014-2017, respectively.

The Orrin E. and Margaret M. Taulbee Award is given every year to the Computer Science graduate student who exhibited an exceptional performance in teaching and research.

 

[News] Prof. Alexandros Labrinidis' PittSmartLiving project gets $1.44 million from the National Science Foundation.

Alexandros Labrinidis co-leads the PittSmartLiving project with Konstantinos Pelechrinis, Adam J. Lee, and Yu-Ru Lin of the School of Computing and Information; Sera Linardi of the Graduate School of Public and International Affairs; and Kent Harries and Mark Magalotti of the Swanson School of Engineering. The project aims to design, develop, deploy, and evaluate a marketplace and a mobile app for multimodal mobility.

Prof. Panos K. Chrysanthis was one of the keynote speakers at the Twenty-Ninth International Conference on Software Engineering and Knowledge Engineering on July 6, 2017. His keynote was on “User-centric Techniques for Big Data Exploration.”
