MobiDE'03 STUDENT TRAVEL GRANTS PROGRAM 3rd ACM International Workshop on Data Engineering for Wireless and Mobile Access September 19, 2003 in San Diego, California, USA http://db.cs.pitt.edu/mobide03 In conjunction with ACM Mobicom 2003 Sponsored by ACM SIGMOBILE In-cooperation with ACM SIGMOD with Industrial Sponsors: ABC-Virtual, Intel Research, Microsoft Research, IBM Research, Hewlett-Packard Labs and NSF Support (pending) This is the third of a successful series of workshops that aims to act as a bridge between the data management, wireless networking, and mobile computing communities. The 1st MobiDE workshop took place in Seattle, Aug. 1999, in conjunction with MobiCom 1999 and the 2nd MobiDE workshop took place in Santa Barbara, May 2001 together with SIGMOD 2001. The workshop will serve as a forum for researchers and technologists to discuss the state-of-the-art, present their contributions, and set future directions in data management for mobile and wireless access. In order to expose young and new computer scientists to emerging research opportunities, this year's MobiDE has initiated a student travel program. A limited number of travel grants are available for full-time students. Interested students should apply with the following application material: (1) curriculum-vita (2) a brief statement (not exceeding 2 pages) describing the reasons why he/she would benefit from attending MobiDE 2003. This statement should include a summary of the student's research work, and (3) A recommendation letter from the student's advisor verifying the full-time student status and endorsing the application for travel support. Applications should be submitted by email to mobide@cs.brandeis.edu. The deadline for the receipt of applications is August 1st, 2003. ORGANIZING COMMITTEE Workshop Chair: Panos K.
